Peers for Equality Web Platform

Welcome to the Peers for Equality platform, a place where you can find a comprehensive collection of resources aimed at supporting youth serving organisations to promote gender equality.

The "Peers for Equality Training Programme", which is the main element of the platform, was developed in a first ever cooperation between the EPTO and Y-Peer networks. Being tested in over 15 communities (both from Europe and Central Asia) and on more than 200 beneficiaries, it has shown great potential for changing the mentalities of young people, especially in terms of:

  • developing critical thinking with respect to traditions and stereotypes that contradict human rights, taking into consideration cultural aspects from Europe and Central Asia
  • empowering the participants to face the existing social pressure that fosters this form of discrimination
  • making them aware of not only the negative implications of gender based violence but also of the ones of other forms of gender discrimination
  • helping them become, in general, more tolerant and more open to diversity

We really hope you will enjoy discovering these resources just as much as we enjoyed creating them and seeing them in action.
